FLORIDA BEACHES: Pristine, white, sandy beaches. The ever so desired sparking turquoise water. The beach used to be a bright, colorful place - a place where most residents of the state and tourists came to spend most of their time. Shooting rays of sunshine, seashells coating the shore. Beautiful.
The used to be the scene anyway. Now, the once turquoise water is covered with black. Black hate. Black plague. Black oil. Black disease. Our water is poisoned, our animals are being covered, killed. It’s not fair, nor is it right for the company responsible to be lacking in getting this problem contained and mended. Why should BP spend millions of dollars on advertisements about the oil spill, but continue to not handle the problem? Why can’t anyone intervene and get something accomplished?
This topic absolutely nauseates me. The once magnificent beaches are damaged. People in this state cry when they see the oil spill and tar balls washing up on the beach. People cry when they see animals covered in oil, helpless, with nobody coming to the rescue. It’s disappointing.
